Domaine Marquis d’Angerville dates back to the early 19th century. The current iteration really traces back to 1952 when Jacques d’Angerville took over the estate. He oversaw 52 vintages before dying tragically in 2003.
Guillaume d’Angerville, took over after his father’s premature passing. Domaine Marquis d’Angerville is situated in the heart of Volnay, in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune.
Champans is one of Volnay’s most recognizable Premier Cru vineyards.
Crimson in color. 13.5% ABV. Beautiful nose of red fruits, flowers, minerals and damp forest floor. Medium body with exquisite acidity. Fresh and fruit forward. Black cherry, strawberry, spice and earth on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Absolutely beguiling Burgundy from a problematic vintage that has aged beautifully. Best over the next 2-4 years.
