2017 Bruce Patch Zinfandel Harris Kratka Vineyard

Bruce Patch cut his teeth in the music industry — having once met the Beatles and helped to discover the famous 80’s band, The Cars. Bruce moved to the Russian River Valley in the late 1990’s, and transitioned his sales and marketing background into a successful distribution business representing small independent wineries in Sonoma County. Bruce Patch Wines sources grapes from throughout Sonoma County, including many notable vineyards like Coffaro and Harris-Kratka.

The 17 acre Harris Kratka Vineyard sits at the southern end of the Alexander Valley. The vineyard was planted in 1992.

Crimson in color. 15.5% ABV. 80% Zinfandel, 10% Carignane and 10% Petite Sirah. Pretty nose of red and black fruits, baking spices, earth and pepper. Medium body with mouth watering acidity. Claret style, but packed with fruit and well balanced. Black cherry, raspberry, anise and pepper on the palate. Nice length on the finish. Super Zinfandel that is showing well now and will be at its best over the next 3-5 years.

My rating: 93 points.

Review based on a sample sent by the winery.
