The 2016 OPR Red is predominately Zinfandel blended with Petite Sirah and Carignane from a vineyard that dates back to 1896.
Dark red in color. 14.5% ABV. Savory nose of red and black fruits, licorice and peach. Medium to full bodied with ample acidity. Really approachable. Raspberry, blackberry, spiced plums and pepper on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Super old vine field blend that is fairly priced at $15 a bottle. Compares well to the Marietta Old Vine Red. Consider this wine for upcoming Spring events involving the barbecue. Best over the next 2-3 years.

I’ll be the first to admit I have not tried a wine from Trentadue in well over a decade. I’ll be going back for more of the Old Patch Red. If you get a chance to try a bottle I would love to know what you think.
