2011 Bedrock Casa Santinamaria White Wine – Bottle Notes

2001 Bedrock White

Bedrock Wine Co. was founded by Morgan Twain-Peterson in 2007 and focuses on small production wines from some of California’ s most treasured and historic vineyards.

Casa Santinamaria Vineyard in Sonoma Valley was planted in 1905. The vineyard includes Zinfandel, mixed blacks and several blocks of field blended white grapes. The 2011 Casa Santinamaria White wine is a blend of Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Semillon,  Muscadelle and Chasselas.

The wine has the floral aromatics of a Southern Rhone blend. Waxy, almost oily, flavors of lemon, peaches, honeysuckle, wet stones, fresh flowers and mineral. Simply delicious.

The wine was a complete steal at $17.50 and  is available only via the mailing list. Run, don’t walk, to get on the Bedrock list.

  1. Thanks for the review, Tom. I didn’t get much of this because my allocation wasn’t large, but look forward to enjoying it. I echo what you say about Bedrock. The wines are so reasonably priced for what they are. I’ve never had a winery (especially one that makes so many different wines) so regularly give me the “wow” reaction with their offerings.

  2. The only close comparison I can make with Bedrock would be Carlisle. Like you said though…Bedrock does it across many more varietals than Carlisle does.
